We officially launched our church in Koronadal City, South Cotabato on December 8, 2019! We now hold worship services every Sunday at 9:30 a.m. inside the Narra Hall of Paraiso Verde Resort.
Here is the story behind our 103rd church outside Metro Manila.
Koronadal is the capital city of South Cotabato. It is where administrative offices and major campuses are located. It is one of the fastest-growing cities in Mindanao, so planting a church there would allow us to engage more people with the gospel and help them follow Jesus, fish for people, and fellowship with other believers.
The church started when a couple who used to attend Victory Katipunan moved to Koronadal to start a family there. The husband is a doctor and found it fitting to pursue his profession in his hometown.
Upon learning that the nearest Victory church is in General Santos City, which is an hour’s drive from Koronadal, the doctor and his wife went there. The couple met with the senior pastor of our church in General Santos and started attending regularly. In one of the church events, God birthed a desire in their hearts to start holding Victory group meetings and ministering to people in Koronadal. This led them to seek God in prayer and form Victory groups in the city.
Now, there are over 20 Victory groups in Victory Koronadal. Our church there is believing for a strong discipleship culture, for leaders to find their calling, for campus missionaries to be raised, and a permanent place to meet for Sunday services.
Together, let us continue to pray for Koronadal and our growing church in this municipality!
