We are now in Mandaluyong!

We are now in Mandaluyong!

Reaching a city doesn’t have to stop just because of a pandemic. On October 18, we virtually launched our first worship service on our Victory Mandaluyong Facebook page. Here is the story of how our church in Mandaluyong began.

Our vision to plant a church in Mandaluyong started 13 years ago, when we started meeting at Robinsons Forum in Pioneer. In 2014, Pastor Jun Aguilar (fondly known as Doc Jun, since he is a medical doctor) started contacting our local government, so he and his team can partner with them in serving our Mandaluyong community. It was then that we found out that our church was actually located in the outskirts of Mandaluyong City. This caused Pastor Jun to dream for a day when we can plant a church at the heart of the city and make a big impact in that community.

Since then, through our Victory group leaders and volunteers who are also residents of the city, we’ve been blessing different communities in Mandaluyong every Christmas. This initiative opened doors for us to reach the campuses in the city. We now have ongoing work in 10 campuses in the city, and we want to continue reaching more campuses for Jesus. There are also over 200 Victory groups happening across the city.

Mandaluyong City is at the very heart of Metro Manila. It is considered a young city, with the majority of its population comprising those 10 to 29 years old. Because we are called to reach the next generation and the future leaders of this nation, this is one of the key cities for us to reach. This is why early this year, we planned to launch Victory Mandaluyong. However, because of the pandemic, we had to pause our plans and change our strategies.

Through the direction and encouragement of our leadership team, we decided to virtually launch our worship services for Victory Mandaluyong. Even if our situation is not ideal, we realized that God was giving us an opportunity to bring His church into the homes of people! Families in Mandaluyong are able to hear His word and embrace His truth.

While there are but a few full-time workers, we have many volunteers who are stepping up and making themselves available for the work of the Lord in this city. Even if we don’t have a facility at the moment, the fire, the passion, and the call of God to reach Mandaluyong does not stop. Our heart to reach our city cannot be thwarted by this pandemic.

We continue to dream that one day, Mandaluyong will not just be reached for Christ, but out of this city will come world leaders and missionaries who will help win the world for Christ.

Together, let us pray for Mandaluyong and believe for breakthroughs as God continues to do a mighty work in that city. Despite the challenges of this season, the church of God is forcefully advancing and will never be on lockdown.

Amazing Grace: Midyear Prayer and Fasting 2020

Amazing Grace: Midyear Prayer and Fasting 2020

Our need for God’s amazing grace is evident now more than ever. On July 7–9, we will come together as a church to seek God and persevere in prayer as we ask Him to heal our land.

Every year, we have been dedicating the first weeks of January and July to prayer, fasting, and consecration. To help us study God’s word during the midyear fast, we have uploaded our devotionals online. You may access them here. You may also check YouVersion and the Victory app. Our Morning Worship & Prayer videos on Victory’s Facebook page will continue to be available.

We hope that the above resources will help unite our church in praying and fasting together and in experiencing and discovering God’s amazing grace. Together, let us believe for God’s grace to change every life, family, and nation. We’re excited to encounter Him and His grace in new ways as we pray and fast as a church!

Join us on Sunday for Unite!

Join us on Sunday for Unite!

Unite is a preaching message based on UNITE714, a global movement calling churches to pray together in light of COVID-19.

UNITE714’s mission is to unite churches across the globe in prayer “for a miraculous healing of our lands from the coronavirus and a spiritual awakening among the nations.” This is a response against the current crisis based on 2 Chronicles 7:14:

“If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

On Sunday, April 19, we will come together in prayer and believe that God will move in our homes, cities, and nation.

Due to the enhanced community quarantine, our worship services are temporarily online. You can join one of our online services on this list.

Let’s continue to face this crisis with faith and hope that comes from the Lord. See you on Sunday!

Discipleship 2020: Empower

Discipleship 2020: Empower

Today, a total of 23,410 Victory group leaders and interns in over 50 locations across the Philippines gathered simultaneously for Discipleship 2020! This conference was the first time our provincial churches—from up north in Ilocos Norte to down south in General Santos—participated in the event at the same time as Victory in Metro Manila.

Since 2017, our discipleship conferences have been about each part of the discipleship journey: Engage, Establish, Equip—and now, Empower. We believe that our discipleship journey can’t end with equipping believers to minister. As followers of Christ, we are empowered to make disciples.

To further reinforce the message of this year’s discipleship conference, Pastor Steve Murrell talked about how Saul (eventually Paul) was immediately empowered to make disciples and preach the gospel. He taught us that we don’t have to wait long before we start leading others to Christ.

When Pastor Steve and Dr. Rice Broocks came here in the Philippines in 1984, they did the same thing to over 150 Filipino youth in the heart of the University Belt. They preached the gospel to them, established biblical foundations in their lives, equipped them to do the work of the ministry, and empowered them to lead. They didn’t wait for years before empowering them to preach the gospel and make disciples. They didn’t look at what they lacked or didn’t know at that time. Instead, they allowed them to grow in strength by empowering them. We plan to continue doing this as a church.

Our recently concluded conference is a great reminder that discipleship is about doing just that: having progress in the right direction, not perfection. Once we learn to empower others in making disciples, we will be amazed at what God can do in and through us and in the lives of the people we empower to lead.

Let us continue to do what we are called to do as a church, and through empowered leaders, see our nation transformed by the gospel!

We are now in Orani, Bataan!

We are now in Orani, Bataan!

We officially launched our church in Orani, Bataan on February 23, 2020! We now hold worship services every Sunday at 1:30 p.m. in Victory Orani.

Orani is a coastal municipality in the province of Bataan with a population of almost 67,000 people. It has a strong family atmosphere and is considered as one of the emerging ecotourism destinations in Central Luzon, making it a strategic location for discipleship.

Shortly after the launch of our church plant in Limay, Bataan, a group of young professionals living in Orani had a burden to pray for their municipality. Seeing that it’s an ideal place for a new church plant because of its demographic and growing population, the group kept meeting and praying for open doors. Soon, they noticed that for every person they invited, a group of family members tagged along, and this motivated them even more.

After a year of meeting and praying together, on August 26, 2017, they were joined by a big group of people composed of students and families who were all excited to do God’s work in that place. That meeting was soon turned into several Victory groups that are passionate about reaching not just their family members but even the students on surrounding campuses. Now, we already have a campus ministry in the two major campuses in Orani. We had our first Saturday worship service there on December 14, 2019 and officially launched the church on Sunday, February 23.

Knowing that there is more to be done to spur faith and growth, our church in Orani is believing God for more strong disciples this year who will continue to reach out to their families, spread the gospel, and pray for the whole municipality.

As one family, let us pray for Orani and our growing churches in Central Luzon!

Our church in Orani is located at 2F Daisy Building, National Road, Orani, Bataan.

Victory group leaders come together for Discipleship 2014

On February 1, 2014, thousands of Victory group leaders will come together for Discipleship 2014, our annual start-of-the-year gathering of current and upcoming Victory group leaders in Metro Manila! A year ago, over 6,700 Victory group leaders converged at the PhilSports Arena for Discipleship 2013, where they received brand-new discipleship tools, were reminded about their own discipleship journey, and listened to Pastor Steve Murrell deliver a message about passing the baton of the gospel. This year, Victory is calling almost 10,000 Victory group leaders from all walks of life, to converge at our fifteen Metro Manila locations! Discipleship 2014 will highlight our latest strategies for discipleship and leadership development. Featuring stories of discipleship, new materials, and a time of worship and prayer, Discipleship 2014 will encourage Victory group leaders to continue honoring God and making disciples in their homes, campuses, offices, and communities. Visit Discipleship.ph, Victory’s online discipleship resource center, for information on Discipleship 2014. Discipleship.ph also provides free resources for discipleship and leadership development.
