Real LIFE Scholars: Soaring to Greater Heights!

Real LIFE Scholars: Soaring to Greater Heights!

On October 20-21, the Real LIFE Foundation will be holding its first National Convergence entitled, “Soar.” Around 250 scholars, LIFE coaches, and Real LIFE alumni will be taking part in this two-day event for refreshing and fellowship. The conference will capture various topics such as integrity, leadership, excellence, and faith.

According to Vince Bitana, Real LIFE’s program coordinator, the theme was chosen to encourage every scholar to persevere and soar on wings like eagles, amidst their circumstances and backgrounds.

We’re looking forward to the future that these young men and women will build! Let’s pray that from this seminar, these young men and women would rise up and take the challenge of overcoming all the obstacles they face and will face. Pray also that all of them would be examples to their families, friends, and classmates.

Real LIFE supports scholars from all over the Philippines, including Laoag, Baguio, Urdaneta, Bacolod, Zamboanga, and General Santos

Congratulations, Real LIFE 2011 Graduates!

The Real LIFE Foundation held a banquet for the graduates of 2011 on Saturday, March 26, at the Victory Pioneer center. It was Real LIFE’s biggest graduation banquet to date, with a total of forty-three college and high school graduates celebrating their success during the school year.

From the thirty-two university scholars who recently graduated, three of them finished school with flying colors! Kimberly Acuña and Ronnie Chu were awarded cum laude honors, while Faye Madriaga finished magna cum laude.

From “Death” to “LIFE”

From “Death” to “LIFE”

Last March 5-6, 2011, over 200 runners braved the third Bataan Death March 102k Ultramarathon, an annual event commemorating the lives of US and Filipino armies who died in the historical Bataan Death March during World War 2. Out of the 200 runners, five of them ran to raise PHP 500,000, to support the Real LIFE Foundation.

Our runners pose with Real LIFE scholars at the 102-km mark. Congrats! (Standing from left to right: Ferdie Cabiling, Alden Meneses, Junn Besana, Joshua Suarez, and Paul Pajo)

Joshua Suarez, who also ran last year’s Ultramarathon to raise support for Real LIFE, encouraged four more runners to join this year’s event—Victory Metro Manila pastors Junn Besana and Ferdie Cabiling, together with running enthusiasts Alden Meneses and Paul Pajo.

The race officially started 10:10 PM of Saturday, March 5 in Mariveles, Bataan and ended eighteen hours later in San Fernando, Pampanga.

In spite of their long and grueling journey, our runners were able to finish the race, and finish it strong! As they crossed the finish line, they were met by their families, friends, and Real LIFE staff and scholars who cheered them on.

In behalf of the Real LIFE Foundation, we would like to thank you for supporting our runners through your prayers and giving. Your help surely goes a long way in building a better future for our scholars!

Gear up for the Bataan LIFE March 2011!

This weekend, two of our Victory pastors, Ferdie Cabiling and Junn Besana, will be running at the 102-km Bataan LIFE March from Mariveles, Bulacan to San Fernando, Pampanga. They will be joined by Joshua Suarez, Paul Pajo, and Alden Meneses. Their goal is to raise support for the scholars of the Real LIFE Foundation and promote awareness for the organization.

The Bataan Death March Ultramarathon started in 2009 to commemorate the original Bataan Death March in 1942. With our runners’ endeavors, they will be turning the infamous death march into a “race for LIFE.”

Please pray for good health, safety, and endurance of our runners. Pray that they would finish strong and be blessed, as they bless others.
