A Love Across Generations and Communities

A Love Across Generations and Communities

As a church, we believe that whenever we reach a student, we also reach a family.

For the past few weeks, we have witnessed how this became a tangible reality in Pasay, as our spiritual family selflessly served the students and surrounding communities.

By faith, our Every Nation Campus Pasay students and missionaries wanted to extend Christ’s love to families, particularly the parents of the youth attending our regular campus gatherings.

The “Love Your Parents” event was a powerful expression of God’s generational love for His people. It was more than just an event; it was a deliberate effort to create a space for families. Parents and their students had “dates,” exchanged heartfelt letters, and engaged in fun activities. The gospel was also preached through exhortation and one-on-one conversations between the parents and our leaders, with the hope that they will soon jumpstart their discipleship journey in Christ.

This initiative reached 27 families of students from Pasay National High School and 19 families of students who are already attending church.

God’s love truly overflowed within our spiritual family in Pasay. Their obedience to God impacted generations, and this extended even beyond the campus event.

That same week, through God’s provision and the church’s generosity, 75 families in Brgy. 177, Malibay, Pasay, received immediate help amidst the devastation of the fire.

Let us continue to pray for the parents who have connected with the church, asking that God, by His grace, speak to them and that they will experience a personal relationship with Him.

We also pray for the full restoration of the community affected by the fire.

Finding Hope in God’s Power and Goodness

Finding Hope in God’s Power and Goodness

As our nation gears up for the upcoming elections, various responses reveal the hearts of our people—hearts that yearn for genuine change in our nation.

Human leadership and social institutions are merely channels of God’s redemptive work for the world. One way or another, they will frustrate and disappoint us. If there is someone we should put all our hopes on, it’s Jesus. It says in Psalm 33:20, “We put our hope in the LORD. He is our help and our shield. In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name.” We will participate and do our part in being salt and light, but we must never be disillusioned into thinking that we, nor any politician, can solve all the brokenness brought by sin. Only Jesus can! Upon Him shall we anchor all our hopes.

We can take comfort in the truth that nothing is beyond the sovereignty of God, “whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together” (Colossians 1:16-17). As we face challenges in our nation that are beyond us, we can take comfort in knowing He is ultimately in control.

We can fully trust that our just God is more than able to make all things right in this life and in the end, when Christ returns. Deuteronomy 32:4 describes God’s work as “perfect, for all his ways are justice”. After all, God’s justice is the ultimate form of justice—reflecting His authority, righteousness, and love.

As a church, understanding the hope that we have in Jesus and acknowledging God’s sovereign justice leads us to passionately fulfill His call to make Jesus known. Because at the core of every issue that arises lies a world that deeply needs to come to know the saving power of Jesus and experience the life-transforming power of the gospel.

Let us all pray for our nation together!

Prayer Points:

  1. Pray that we will always respond with trust and obedience to God’s absolute authority, sovereignty, and justice at all times. May we continue to move in prayer and trust in God’s word in every news and post that we read. May we fulfill our calling to honor God and make disciples while navigating differences with grace, humility, and understanding.
  1. Pray that we, as the body of Christ, will make every effort to maintain the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace (Ephesians 4:3). Pray that we will not allow the schemes of the enemy to divide us. Instead, may we obey His command to love one another as He has loved us, so that others may see that we are true followers of Christ.
  1. Pray for God to remember His mercy and compassion toward our nation. May He guide our government leaders in righteousness. May we seek the Lord in humility and repentance and be delivered from corruption, poverty, and division. May we become a blessing to other nations and a thriving example of a nation healed and restored by God.

Pray for a Peaceful and Orderly Campaign and Election Season

Pray for a Peaceful and Orderly Campaign and Election Season

Elections in democratic nations like the Philippines play a significant role in nation-building—as they give the Filipino people the right to choose the leaders who will impact the nation. Thus, every elected government official is accountable to his constituents.

As we anticipate the Philippine general election on May 12, 2025, may we see it as a chance to not only exercise our right to vote, but also a chance to bless our nation.

We also acknowledge that people in authority are entrusted with bigger responsibilities, which is why it is important to keep on covering them in prayers, especially this season. In 1 Timothy 2:1, we are encouraged that “petitions, prayers, intercession, and thanksgiving be made for all people—for kings and all those in authority that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.”

May we all together look to God and His sovereign power as our nation faces the preparations for the upcoming May 2025 midterm elections.

Prayer Points:

  1. Pray for Filipino voters to have the wisdom and due diligence needed to discern and assess candidates’ character and capabilities.
  2. Pray for a peaceful and orderly campaign season, believing that the violence, intimidation, and corruption surrounding it will cease.
  3. Pray for the offices taking part in the preparations to wisely steward the resources given to them and by all means, uphold integrity, justice, fairness, and truth.
  4. Pray that there will be peace and discernment within our church and that we may prioritize our calling to honor God and make disciples while navigating political differences with grace, humility, and understanding.
