The Games of the XXXIII Olympiad, popularly known as the 2024 Summer Olympics or Paris 2024, is an international multi-sport event scheduled to take place from July 26 to August 11 in France.
Sports has always been a unifying factor in bringing a nation together. It has a unique ability to transcend differences and bring people together under a common banner of national pride. Rooting for the same team can bridge different social, economic, cultural, and political groups within a country.
May the Paris 2024 Olympics be an opportunity to unite our nation despite the many issues and opinions dividing the Philippines.
May our Filipino athletes also inspire our youth to discover the greatness inside of them through the talent and skills that the Lord has blessed them with.
Prayer Points:
- Pray for strength, mental toughness, and peak performances for our Filipino athletes. Pray also for protection from any illness and injuries during the Olympics.
- Pray for unity and camaraderie among our Filipino athletes. May they serve as an example of transcending differences for one common goal, to bring glory and inspiration to our nation.
- Pray that God will use the Paris 2024 Olympics to unite our nation amidst current issues. Let’s hope this international competition brings out love and pride for the Philippines!
- Pray that the Filipino athletes competing will inspire our youth to find the greatness inside of them through the talent and skills that the Lord has blessed them with.
The Paris Olympics’ Team Philippine delegation is the biggest the country has sent to the Summer Games since Barcelona 1992. We have sent 22 athletes to compete in nine sports, namely, athletics, boxing, fencing, gymnastics, golf, judo, rowing, swimming, and weightlifting.
