New Series: Unwrapping the Present

New Series: Unwrapping the Present

It’s Christmas time once again! A season we get to celebrate with our family and friends, look back and give thanks for the things that happened in our lives this year, and think about our plans and goals for the next year. Although there are uncertainties, many of us feel the excitement that this season brings.

The real reason this season makes us look forward to our future is because there is a truth which we can truly anchor our hope upon: Jesus came to give us salvation and for us to experience true, abundant life in Him.

Let’s look at the Gospel of John to get a deeper understanding of who Jesus is, why He came, and the fullness of the gospel in our present reality. Beyond the nativity story, we can unravel the meaning and person of Christmas in our new series, Unwrapping the Present. Through this series, may we not just remember the true reason for the season, but invite others to know and have faith in Jesus as well.

Unwrap the greatest present we have all received: Jesus Christ, in whom we have light and life for our present reality and for all time. Join us in the next four weeks as we learn more about these topics:

  • Week 2: Lamb of God (December 11)

New Series: Think Outside the Bucks

New Series: Think Outside the Bucks

What does money mean to you? What about wealth? Money is a tool—a very useful tool. We use money to purchase our daily needs—food, shelter, transportation. It’s something that we need to survive in the world, so much so that in order to thrive and be secure, we would need to amass great wealth.

But more than just having financial freedom, Jesus invites us to have not just financial peace but wholeness in Him that no amount of money can buy. In our new series, Think Outside the Bucks, we will be talking about Jesus’ teachings in the Gospel of Luke, pointing to God who is our Father and the Provider of our every need and how we can use our resources to be a blessing to others. Together, let’s look beyond our physical resources to see how we are blessed to be a blessing.

New Series: Every Tribe, Every Nation

New Series: Every Tribe, Every Nation

The world is in dire need of hope. While things may not be how we want them to be—in both the small and larger scales of life—there is a bigger reality that we can look forward to. God is the hope of all nations.

In our new series, Every Tribe, Every Nation, we will discover God’s heart to draw all men to Himself. As we know, experience, and trust Him, we will experience redemption, salvation, and freedom that He has designed for us to live in since the very beginning. And He invites us, His people, to take part in bringing the gospel of hope to all nations.

We do this with the faith that ultimately, people from every tongue, tribe, and nation will come to Him, bow before His throne, and worship Him with their whole hearts (Revelation 7:9–10).

We Your People

We Your People

Church is not just what we do or where we go to on Sundays. But the Church is the people who are called by God to a community set apart for His purpose. We were never meant to follow Him alone, but He calls us to relationships. We are His people who share lives, grow, and worship together in community. Truly, nothing beats coming together face-to-face.

In Church, we grow in our relationships with Christ together, share lives with each other, and actively invite others to know Him too. Because we live in Christ and He remains our cornerstone, only God can define us and set our purpose. May this series remind us of the value of being joined together with others and gathering as a spiritual family.

Join us in the next three weeks as we learn more about these topics:

  • Week 1: Shared Lord, Shared Faith (July 17)
  • Week 2: Shared Lives, Shared Love (July 24)
  • Week 3: Shared Longing, Shared Hope (July 31)

Let’s continue to dedicate the year to seeking God, going deeper in His word, and growing in our faith through prayer and fasting. How has abiding in His word helped you so far this year?

God’s word is the authority upon which we will align our lives, and it is through His word that He transforms us into His image and empowers us to do what He has called us to do.

Here’s a devotional guide that can help us as we pray and fast together. It is available in English and Filipino translations. You can also use the family devotional together with kids ages 4 to 12. May this help you as you lead your families to know and love God more, and abide in His word. You can access the devotionals through the Victory groups app, or download them here:

May we discover the power and beauty of God’s word and grow in our faith together!

As for Me and My House

As for Me and My House

How must we view our family? What is God’s design for family? And how can our family pursue God’s purpose when they haven’t even encountered God yet?

In our new series, As for Me and My House, we will be exploring stories of three families in the Bible that God used for His kingdom purpose. While our families may not be perfect or have yet to be connected to Christ, the truth is God has a call for each household.

May this series help us see God’s plans for our families and trust that He will call each family towards healing, reconciliation, mission, and faith. Together, let us discover how we can be a family on God’s mission to be a blessing to the nations and restore them back to Himself, declaring: As for me and my house, we shall serve the Lord.

Join us in the next three weeks as we learn more about these topics:

  • Week 1: Responding to God’s Call as a Family in Missions (June 12)
  • Week 2: Making a Difference in Your Sphere of Influence as a Father (June 19)
  • Week 3: Raising Missional Children in the Home (June 26)

Let’s continue to grow with our families, intentionally build relationships with them, and pursue God’s calling and purpose together.

Beyond Kings and Kingdoms

Beyond Kings and Kingdoms

In the midst of changing times and seasons, how can we serve faithfully and recognize God’s power at work in our own lives and in the world?

As God’s people and those who have experienced His faithfulness and power, we are to pursue His agenda and recognize His sovereignty beyond earthly kings and kingdoms of our time. This is the truth we stand on: God is sovereign, His purposes will not be thwarted, and His kingdom will continue to advance.

Our new series, Beyond Kings and Kingdoms, will be based on the book of Daniel. We will look at the lives of God’s people during a time of exile in a time and kingdom that does know God, let us discover how they stood firm in their faith and responded to different situations in a way that honors God and recognizes His power and sovereignty.

Join us in the next six weeks as we learn more about these topics:

  • Week 1: Remaining Faithful Even When the Situation is Beyond Your Control (April 24)
  • Week 2: Trusting God Even When Speaking Up is Unpopular (May 1)
  • Week 3: Taking a Stand by Faith Even When All the Odds Are Against You (May 8)
  • Week 4: The Power of God’s Truth (May 15)
  • Week 5: Faithfulness in Obscurity (May 22)
  • Week 6: Outlasting Kings and Empires (May 29)

Of First Importance

Of First Importance

As Filipinos, celebrating the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ every year is culturally ingrained in us. Holy Week has become a tradition for most, if not all, of us, but this time, let us take this time to reflect on the importance of Jesus’ life and sacrifice not merely for inspiration, but so that we can persevere in the purpose of God in our lives and in His mission.

The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is crucial to our faith. When we have a good understanding of these, we can truly live out the life we have in Him and help others know Him and the life He offers as we proclaim His gospel.

Join us in the next two weeks as we learn more about these topics:

  • Week 1: Christ’s Death (April 10)
  • Week 2: Christ’s Resurrection (April 17)

As we take this time to remember Jesus’ life and sacrifice, we also have an 8-day devotional that is available on the Victory groups app. You may also download it here:

We hope that this will help us reflect on and respond to Jesus’ life and His sacrifice for us.

Tayo Series

Tayo Series

We’re all looking for a way to move forward. While there are still many things we are uncertain of, we want to rebuild and live a better life as soon as we can. In this season, we can look to God and trust that His plans are better than what we see or imagine for ourselves, and heed His call to trust Him as we pursue His purpose for us, even as a nation.

Tayo can mean many things: to stand; to build; to be together. As followers of God, we will stand on God’s word as the stable and sure foundation of our lives and our nation. We hope that through this series, our faith will be strengthened and we will be inspired to build together according to God’s mission, purpose, and call.

Join us in the next four weeks as we learn more about these topics:

  • Week 1: Prioritizing God (March 6)
  • Week 2: Obeying God (March 13)
  • Week 3: God Wants Our Hearts (March 20)
  • Week 4: God Is In Control (March 27)

Stable & Sure

Stable & Sure

There are a lot of things in the world where we try to put our hope and trust in. Sadly, these things are temporary and tend to fail us. In this ever shifting world, there is only one person on whom we can build our lives—Jesus, the chief cornerstone.

What is a cornerstone? It is the stone that is laid first when something is built, and to it all other stones are aligned. In the same way, when we put Christ front and center, that means we are also aligning every other aspect of our lives to Him. We may experience ups and downs, but we can stand firm and pursue God’s mission because Jesus is our stable and sure foundation!

Join us in our two-part series as we learn more about these topics:

  • Week 1: The Prophesied Cornerstone (February 20)
  • Week 2: The Message of Salvation (February 27)
  • Week 3: The Household of God (July 3)
  • Week 4: The Chosen People of God (July 10)

May we continue to be reminded that we will be stable, immovable, and firm when we’re connected and aligned to our Cornerstone.

Abide

Abide

We know that our awesome God has been with us and He alone continually sustains us through our journey. Because of this, we face the new year with hope and look forward to seeing Him move powerfully in and through us every day.

Let us start the year abiding in God’s word and calling others to do the same. To abide means “to remain stable or fixed in a state; to continue in a place.” Through our series and our prayer, fasting, and consecration week, we will look at the different aspects of God’s word and allow His voice to transform us in His image, empowered to do what He has called us to do.

As we prioritize reading the Bible above all else, we will begin to discover the power and beauty of God’s word and continue to anchor ourselves upon His never failing and unshaken truth.

Join us as we learn more about these topics in the next six weeks:

  • Week 1: The Word Became Flesh (January 9)
  • Week 2: The Word Gives Life (January 16)
  • Week 3: The Word Feeds Our Spirit (January 23)
  • Week 4: The Word Sets Us Free (January 30)
  • Week 5: The Word Bears Fruit (February 6)
  • Week 6: The Word Keeps Us From Evil (February 13)

We hope you can join us in our time of prayer, fasting, and consecration from January 10 to 14. Visit victory.org.ph/fasting2022/ to download our devotionals, join our prayer meetings, and share your story about how abiding in God’s word has helped you.

As we abide in God’s word, may it bear fruit in our lives and inspire those around us to follow God and abide in His word, too.
