At the beginning of every year, we commit ourselves to five days of prayer and fasting to dedicate the year to the Lord and seek His will. We do this annually with our Every Nation family to thank the Lord and stand in faith with each other as we believe Him for greater things in our families, campuses, workplaces, and nations.
Our theme for next year’s prayer and fasting will be “In Christ.” As we go through the book of Ephesians together from January 8 to 12, we pray that we will have a better grasp of our identity and true worth in Christ. Devotionals will be available at our worship services in the coming weeks.
At Victory, we believe that everyone can participate in prayer and fasting. And because we are passionate about engaging the next generation and establishing them in the faith, we wanted to give kids an opportunity to join us. This year, a devotional will be available for kids ages 10 to 12. If you are a parent, we encourage you to to use this devotional as a way to teach your children to grow in their faith in God and practice the spiritual disciplines.
As 2017 comes to a close in two weeks and 2018 welcomes us, we invite everyone to prepare with us for prayer and fasting. Over the holidays, take time to list down the things you are grateful for this year and start asking God for your faith goals in the coming year.
If you have questions about prayer and fasting, feel free to talk to any of our staff or Victory group leaders.
Let us continue to honor God in every season of our lives!
