A recently concluded survey report by Pulse Asia says that 92% of Filipino adults are hopeful for the coming year.
“Amidst the various challenges Filipinos face on a daily basis, most of them continue to remain optimistic, with 92% saying they will face the new year with hope. This is the prevailing sentiment in every geographic area and socio-economic grouping,” Pulse Asia said in its report.
This year, we have experienced several natural calamities, economic hurdles, policy concerns, and administrative challenges, among others. Yet, these things did not hinder us from hoping once again.
As we look back and remember the year that was, we are also reminded of the steadfast love of the Lord that never ceases, whose mercies never come to an end, but are new every morning. (Lamentations 3:21-22).
Our hope is in Christ, not in our government, nor our economy. Therefore, we will continue to bring the message of hope this 2024, as we honor God and make disciples.
It says in 1 Peter 1:13, Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
May our prayer for miracles continue to translate into an unwavering time of intercession for our nation, as we anchor our hearts to our living hope. May we unceasingly witness miracles happening in our nation every day.
Prayer Points:
- Pray for a spirit of hope and anticipation for 2024. Let us believe that God will fill our hearts with expectations that this coming year will be better for us Filipinos.
- Let us ask God to anchor our hopes fully on the grace brought to us by the revelation of Jesus Christ, not on government leaders, economic prosperity, or positive thinking.
- Let us pray that the church will continue to spread the message of hope throughout every city and municipality, just as we have experienced this hope firsthand. May 2024 be a year of even greater intentional evangelism and relational discipleship.
