Ballots have been counted, and the winners officially announced. Millions of Filipinos voted, choosing new leaders for our legislative bodies and local governments. Now, as the election dust settles, our nation enters a new period of transition and a renewed focus on national development.
This new season for our nation brings significant undertakings, one of the most prominent being the upcoming ₱7.3-billion EDSA Rehabilitation project. This project is set to begin on the night of June 13 and is expected to be completed by 2027.
However, Filipinos have mixed feelings about the EDSA Rehabilitation project. While many know it needs fixing and hope for smoother commutes, there’s also worry about the huge traffic jams and the hassle it will cause. People who use EDSA every day fear much longer travel times, which will affect their jobs and daily lives. More traffic and new routes are a big concern. It’s a tough choice: hoping for a better future versus facing sure problems now.
Despite these challenges, we hold onto a hope for a better Philippines. As a nation of faith, this is a pivotal moment to unite in prayer.
Together, let us pray for these:
- Let’s pray for our newly elected leaders — that they lead with wisdom, honesty, and a heart to serve the good of our nation. May they focus on doing what’s right, addressing poverty, and working hard for the well-being of every Filipino.
- Let’s pray for healing in relationships, forgiveness where people have been hurt, and a spirit of understanding and unity this post-election season. May we remember that being Filipinos and children of God is more important than any political affiliation.
- Pray for the smooth and successful start of the EDSA Rehabilitation project this June. May the work progress without delays or problems, and may it bring lasting benefits to everyone who travels and lives near EDSA.
- Let us also lift up all the infrastructure projects happening across the nation. May they be carried out with honesty and transparency, free from corruption.
- Pray for a spirit of resilience and adaptability among all those who traverse EDSA daily. May we extend grace and kindness to one another as we go through this season together.
As we live in the present and look forward to the future, we hold firm to the hope that God is actively working in our midst. In this new season for the Philippines, we pray with full assurance that God is building a better nation for us all.
