Our nation is in need of hope more than ever, something that will bring lasting security as life’s storms come our way. 

To this, God gives us a sure foundation—His word. 

As Psalm 19:7-9 says, “The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; the precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes; the fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; the rules of the Lord are true, and righteous altogether.”

The world and its ways are unstable and temporary like sinking sand, but God’s word never fades. As we hear and obey His commands, we are building on solid rock that can weather the changing times and the destruction of sin. 

God’s word shapes our hearts and minds and empowers us to love and serve others, stand up for the oppressed and vulnerable, and fight against evil and corruption in our society. It is the basis for how we live our lives and build our nation for generations to come.

As we celebrate National Bible Day today, may every Filipino be rooted and transformed by God’s word, overflowing to their homes, campuses, and workplaces. May our nation continue to be anchored in God alone.

Let’s pray for our nation:

1. Pray that the fear of the Lord will continue to guide our leaders to lead justly and righteously.
2. Pray for God to empower His Church to share the gospel wherever they are. 
3. Pray for Filipinos to encounter God through His word, leading them to surrender their lives to Him.
