Super Typhoon Carina enhanced the southwest monsoon or “habagat”, triggering heavy rains, flooding, and landslides in several parts of the country – Northern Luzon, Central Luzon, and Calabarzon, including Metro Manila. Metro Manila, the provinces of Bataan, Bulacan, Cavite, and some parts of Cotabato, Davao, Oriental Mindoro, and Rizal have declared a State of Calamity.
Over 1 million people have been affected across the nation with a rising toll on missing persons and reported deaths. Barangays have forced evacuations and rescue efforts have taken place in critical and severely flooded areas. Our hearts go out to the families badly hit by the flooding and landslides.
Several of our Metro Manila and provincial churches have mobilized disaster relief and assistance to church members and families affected.
As of today, we have ongoing relief operations in Metro Manila and the provinces.

During this difficult time, let’s continue to pray:
- Pray for peace, comfort, and safety for every family affected by this calamity.
- Pray for strength and protection to all relief and rescue teams who are serving affected communities.
- Pray that our church will continue to be God’s hands and feet, as we continually mobilize relief efforts to help those in need.
Through these relief efforts, we will continue to help families and communities rebuild and recover what is lost, and bring the light of the gospel wherever they may be.
May God be our nation’s refuge as we put our trust in Him, the one who stills the storms.
“The name of the Lord is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.” – Proverbs 18:10
