Joint Relief Efforts for Typhoon Ompong

Two weeks have passed since Typhoon Ompong (known internationally as Mangkhut) made landfall in Cagayan. Its sheer magnitude, which ripped through many parts of northern Philippines, caused severe damage to the communities and affected more than 700,000 families.

Because we believe that God has called His people to be a channel of His love and blessing, our churches in Baguio and Tuguegarao initiated relief operations to help restore the typhoon-stricken communities in Northern Luzon.

Channel of Blessing

Through the help of our Victory group leaders and members, Victory Baguio gave food, clothes, and toiletries to those affected by major flooding and landslides in the province of Benguet. They also had the opportunity to encourage the families by praying for and preaching the gospel to them.

Better Together

In partnership with Operation Blessing, Samaritan’s Purse, the local government, and other organizations, Victory Tuguegarao gathered staff and volunteers in the church to pack relief goods for the affected individuals and families.

As of today, they have already reached out to 6,078 families from Amulung West, Amulung East, Iguig, and Baggao. The relief efforts are still ongoing.

Let’s continue to stand in prayer for the families affected by Typhoon Ompong as they rebuild their homes and trust God amid their situation. We are blessed to be a blessing, and we believe that if we stand together in faith, we can overcome any storm.
