Hundreds of professionals and entrepreneurs gathered at the Every Nation Building last June 4, for God’s Economy, a seminar on Bible-based financial principles. The event was organized by VictoryBiz to help professionals understand biblical perspectives on business and finances to give them new insights on how they could become more efficient in their respective careers. David Rae, the speaker for this lecture, was the former president of Apple Canada Inc. He is now the president of Crown Financial Ministries, which aims to equip people around the world to learn, apply, and teach biblical financial principles.

David Rae suggested how we could shift our perspective from man’s economy to God’s economy. To present a picture of the world’s situation, he pointed out the fact that half of the world lives on less than two dollars a day. This fact illustrates how the world has been missing out on God’s provision. David Rae even said, “God cares about you and I being successful. He wants you to win.” But success in our professions is not achieved through the ways of the world; there is a way that God wants us to do it. God’s ways are different from our ways. The world’s economy tells us to climb the corporate ladder, step on others, and consume as much as we can; God’s economy tells us that He is the owner and controller of our businesses. When we follow His ways, God multiplies our effectiveness. In God’s economy, not only do we succeed; we also develop a deeper understanding of who He is, and He enables us to make an impact in the lives of others.

Through seminars like this, VictoryBiz helps professionals and business people learn biblical principles that can help them in practical ways in their daily lives. These lectures focus on several topics such as family, leadership, and finances. To know more about VictoryBiz, you may visit their website at www.victorybiz.org
