Finishing Strong: Remembering Ferdie Cabiling’s Life

By: Dr. Jun Escosar

If there’s anything that Ferdie Cabiling is known for, it would be his boundless energy and fiery passion for preaching the gospel, reaching the lost, and raising the next generation of leaders.

When we were starting, Ferdie was a diamond in the rough, but you could see the steady growth and the passion to learn – not out of selfish ambition or to seek a name for himself. He said he was content to be an armor-bearer.

We would talk and dream about reaching the whole world with the gospel. Just like Abraham, he would count the stars and dream big for the advancement of God’s kingdom. We shared a common passion and forged a friendship hinged on a mission.

He continued to fuel the fire in people to take the lead and evangelize the lost. He audaciously envisioned and preached about campuses, cities, and nations across multiple generations transformed by the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Ferdie was a faithful man. Marriage and family even made him a better leader, a better pastor, and a champion for building strong foundations in the home.

He was a loving husband to Judy, a committed and compassionate father to Elle & Ian, and John Philip, and a tender grandfather to Narra and Laya. His consistency and focus have inspired the next generation, including his daughter, Elle, who reaches and disciples students as a campus missionary.

He had a no-maintenance mentality and carried even greater fervor than when he began. He did not care about his own convenience. Every opportunity he was given, he charged with audacity and faith.

During one of our retreats, we came together to affirm his calling as an evangelist. He was more than ready for his next chapter, dreaming again about reaching more souls for Christ.

As brothers, we stood in faith and received fresh fire from this man.

I pray there will be many more Ferdies to come.

In his book, he left us with this quote:

Fixing our eyes intently on the risen Jesus Christ frames our perspective. Focusing on His victory empowers us to run with endurance and finish strong.

“But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.” (Acts 20:24).

Ferdie, you finished strong.

You are a tough and strong leader… you have raised the bar so high and left us with a generation of evangelists to continue this race for all eternity.

Ferdie Cabiling served as a bishop in the Bishops Council of Victory. He also served as the Chairman of Real LIFE Foundation since 2018. A preacher, evangelist, and ultramarathoner, he is survived by his wife Judy, children Elle & Ian, and John Philip, and grandchildren Narra and Laya.

New Series: Jesus.

New Series: Jesus.

The “JESUS.” banner that we hung back in the day was our way of making sure everyone knew we were all about Jesus.

In a time and age where people hesitate to share who they follow, may we never be ashamed to put Jesus first in everything—that He is the one we follow and live by.

Let us come together over the next four weeks to discover what it truly means to know Jesus as Lord—and how this truth shapes our daily lives.

Week 1: The Lordship of Christ

Week 2: Receiving Christ as Lord

Week 3: Living under the Lordship of Christ

Pray for God’s Mercy and Intervention during the El Niño

Pray for God’s Mercy and Intervention during the El Niño

Summer is almost here. While we’ve enjoyed cooler weather in the previous months, we may soon find ourselves facing warmer temperatures than usual. PAGASA defines El Niño as characterized by unusually warmer than average sea surface temperatures in the central and eastern equatorial Pacific.

This year, El Niño is bringing drought, leading to three consecutive months of significantly below-normal rainfall conditions. Based on PAGASA’s projection, provinces will continue to be affected over the next three months. Six areas have already been declared to be in a state of calamity.

Task Force El Niño spokesperson Assistant Secretary Joey Villarama stated that currently, 67 provinces are experiencing the effects of El Niño, with 30 of them facing drought conditions. Assistant Secretary Arnel de Mesa, the spokesperson of the Department of Agriculture, reported nearly 30,000 farmers have already experienced a decrease in crop yield and harvest. These damages to our agriculture could adversely affect our entire economy with decreasing supply and rising commodity prices. Which is why we must pray for our nation at this time.

Drought and famine are familiar concepts, even dating back to ancient times. The Bible alone recounts numerous instances of drought and famine. Just as God faithfully provided in those times, we can rest assured that abundance is not far from us.  Let us be in faith that the God who gives rain for the seed with which we sow the ground, will make our land rich and abundant (Isaiah 30:23).

“In times of disaster they will not wither; in days of famine they will enjoy plenty.”Psalm 37:19 (NIV84)

Even in the droughts and famines of our lives, we declare for restoration of inheritance, as there will be rain in abundance, ready to quench the greater thirst of the human soul (Psalm 68:9).

Prayer Points:

  1. Pray for God’s mercy and intervention in mitigating the effects of El Niño. Let us believe Him for a supernatural provision of rain and relief for affected regions, praying for an end to the drought and recovery of everything that was lost.
  2. Pray for those impacted directly by El Niño – farmers, producers, livestock keepers, and communities facing food and water shortages. Pray for their health and protection, provision of basic needs, and resilience amidst another challenging circumstance.
  3. Pray for wisdom for our government as they seek solutions to mitigate the impacts of El Niño. May they come up with innovative strategies and long-term solutions to combat this drought.
  4. Pray that our church will continuously be God’s hands and feet during this time of El Niño. May the church be a beacon of hope to those in need by proclaiming and demonstrating the gospel to them.

Hope Isn’t Gone

Hope Isn’t Gone

News about suicide cases isn’t new to us at all. In the Philippines alone, DepEd has death records for a total of 404 learners and 2,147 records of those who attempted suicide in the academic year 2021-2022.

These numbers represent lives, leaving behind a trail of regret. Whenever we hear such stories, it either wounds us or serves as a powerful wake-up call.

However, grief is not the only response. The local government of Taguig moves swiftly in compassion–calling forth the whole city to slowly transform grief into action.

Taguig CARES (Community Awareness towards Resilient and Empowered Students) is one of the LGU’s programs that aims to equip students and their families with holistic tools to navigate life’s challenges through values formation and mental health talks.

Our church had the privilege to partner with this effort by serving as resource speakers during the city-wide Parenting Seminar. Leaders and volunteers across Victory Metro Manila helped equip 40,000 parents with the biblical responsibility of parenting. Many signified their willingness to receive help and guidance as parents and guardians of the next generation.

Let us continue to empower more families with resilience and faith by fostering strong values and building a supportive community together.

Stand with us in prayer as we reach families in every city, shedding hope and dispelling darkness.

In Christ, we are never left without hope.

Hope from the Ashes: Helping Las Piñas Fire Victims Recover from A Tragedy

Hope from the Ashes: Helping Las Piñas Fire Victims Recover from A Tragedy

With March as a Fire Prevention Month, continue to pray for our nation’s protection from further devastating fire incidents.

Just over a week ago, a second-alarm fire struck the Maligaya Compound in Barangay Pilar, Las Piñas City.

This fire tragically impacted 30 homes, displacing 125 families and roughly 400 individuals. Thankfully, there were no reported casualties or injuries.

An overwhelming number of volunteers from various organizations across the city joined forces with us—including the body of Christ in Las Piñas.

We are also grateful for our leaders who readily offered help and provided meals to those affected.

What a sight of grace to behold—that despite the tragic event, we were led to an open door, an unexpected opportunity to demonstrate and proclaim the gospel.

We were also given the privilege to pray for and minister to our barangay officials.

May our hearts of compassion continue to burn with fire, to be vessels of things of eternal worth, unlike a physical fire that consumes and destroys.

Let’s continue to stand in prayer and faith together.

  • Pray for our second wave of efforts to provide counseling and medical support for the fire victims.
  • Pray for continued protection and recovery for the affected families. Just recently, another fire broke out on Wednesday (March 6) morning, displacing another 170 families.

Pray for God’s Peace and Restoration in the Middle East

Pray for God’s Peace and Restoration in the Middle East

On January 28, Sunday, an aerial drone packed with explosives flew into Tower 22, a US military outpost in northeast Jordan, along the border of Syria and Iraq, exploded in the barracks, killed 3 US service members, and injured 34 others. Both the Islamic Resistance in Iraq and the Axis of Resistance, militant groups said to be backed by Iran, claimed responsibility for the attack. There have been nearly 200 attacks against US targets since the Israel-Hamas conflict. However, this is the first known instance of American casualties.

The strike has backed US President Biden into a corner. US Defense Secretary Lloyd Ja Austin III declared on the same day that “The president and I will not tolerate attacks on American forces, and will take all necessary actions to defend the United States, our troops, and our interests,…” However, due to the complexity of the Gaza war, the President’s response must carefully weigh military duty against political pressure while being mindful not to further escalate the current regional conflict.

While retaliation would seem like a natural response, it would heighten the volatile situation and fuel an all-out war.

Iran, despite accusations, claimed these militant groups do not take orders and act independently. The country states that it does not intend to be pulled into a regional war.

Less than a week later, the world found out the answer. On Friday, February 2, five days after the drone attack, the US launched major airstrikes on 85 military targets in 7 locations in Iraq and Syria.

As we have learned throughout human history, there are no winners in war. War begets war. Leaders and nations are often handcuffed by larger political interests despite their desire to fully pursue paths of peace. When man runs short of answers, it becomes all the more clear that only the Gospel provides a lasting answer to our troubles. Let us pray for His Light to shine on the world during this time.

Prayer Points:

1. Pray for wisdom, diplomacy, and discernment to prevail over President Biden and Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei to avoid war and bring the independent militias under control and even be dismantled.

2. Continue to intercede for the end of the Israel and Hamas war and for normal life to resume as quickly as possible for both sides. Ask God for a supernatural answer that will be acceptable to both the Israelis and Palestinians in their 75-year war over the land of Palestine.

3. Intercede for a spirit of revival to wash over the world as the risk of an escalating regional war looms in the Middle East. May this desperation force people, leaders, and nations to fall on their knees and humble themselves before the Prince of Peace.

While we can try to endure life’s challenges on our own terms and strength, many times, it makes us grow tired and weary, too.

Here’s the good news:

There is something that goes beyond mere resilience. It is faith—it is counterintuitive and overcoming.

It allows us to endure, despite all the reasons we can think of, and despite it all.

Love—in Quezon City

Love—in Quezon City

We are called to serve others like how He did and be faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms (1 Peter 4:10-11).

In Quezon City, we serve as faithful stewards of God’s grace by sharing the value of family. We believe in God’s mandate and design for marriage, and we have been given the privilege to serve the families in Quezon City by providing seminars promoting biblical values on marriage.

Through these events, we are able to speak hope and encouragement towards building strong foundations as husbands and wives. This is key to changing communities and even the course of our nation.

Godly marriages will surely bless generations after generations that come after us. May we never tire of passing on the word of God and the baton to the next generation!

We are grateful for volunteers serving with us — and we ask God to give us sincere and utmost compassion that can continually transform lives. May we create a culture of growth and service that reflects the heart of God for all.

Let us continue to serve others, just as Jesus did.

The Message of Reconciliation—Sharing God’s Hope in San Juan

The Message of Reconciliation—Sharing God’s Hope in San Juan

The blood of Jesus makes us whole and alive—with all the joy that is set before him, He still chose to bear the cross in our place, so that we may have a restored relationship with a holy God.

This is the love that compels us to action.

Before 2023 ended, we spent Christmas within the walls of a juvenile detention center in San Juan City. Despite their past, we have the privilege to share the hope of salvation and reconciliation. Christ’s love and His church is not a place of condemnation but of restoration.

We shared laughs, enjoyed meals, and ministered to their needs as a church community.

This simple act of generosity also enabled us to extend our service to women in correctional facilities.

Let us always remember that God’s love is always looking after the least, lost, and the last. May we always find ourselves kneeling at the foot of the cross—the only place that qualifies us to be ministers of reconciliation to the world that seeks true and lasting hope.

All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. — 2 Corinthians 5:18-20 ESV

Pray for God’s Peace and Stability in Taiwan

Pray for God’s Peace and Stability in Taiwan

Taiwan opened 2024 with a presidential election on January 13 which had major implications for Taiwan and China, with the rest of the world watching.  While there were other major domestic concerns, such as the economy and housing, no bigger election issue was at stake than the candidates’ position on Taiwan’s relationship with neighboring China. The ruling party (DPP) fielded Lai Ching-te who campaigned on a strong pro-independence platform. The biggest opposition (KMT) was represented by New Taipei Mayor Hou Yu-ih who ran on increased diplomacy and possible reunification with China. A third party (TPP) was led by former Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je who offered a middle ground – continued sovereignty while dialoguing with China. China obviously backed KMT candidate Hou and called this election a choice between “war and peace. All 23.5 million Taiwanese felt the weight of pressure leading to the elections.

DPP’s Lai won the elections with a majority of 40.05% of the votes. It was a very strong message to China. It also meant greater uncertainty, rising tensions, and a risk of war escalating moving forward. Two days after the elections, China lured Nauru to cut diplomatic ties with Taiwan through promises of economic assistance. Tuvalu is expected to follow soon. It is part of China’s efforts to isolate Taiwan. Twenty nations have switched diplomatic relations from Taiwan to China since 2001. China is also expected to step up its military exercises near and within Taiwan’s defense zone.

Whatever happens in the next few years has serious implications for the rest of the world, particularly in Southeast Asia and the Philippines. As God’s people, we do not fear. Instead, we lift everything up in prayer, knowing God is sovereign.

1. Pray that the message of Christ’s love will break pride, animosity, and hatred — bringing about lasting peace.

2. Intercede for peace-minded politicians and leaders on both sides to find a political solution that will satisfy both governments and people.

3. Pray for God’s wisdom for President Lai as he leads Taiwan during these difficult times.

Pray for Every Filipino Family To Be Rooted in God’s Word

Pray for Every Filipino Family To Be Rooted in God’s Word

“For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” — Hebrews 4:12

The annual National Bible Month is always an opportunity to minister God’s word to our countrymen. Thousands of Bibles, along with our One2one booklets, are being distributed to families across the nation every year.

On January 29, 2024, we celebrated the 7th National Bible Day with the Body of Christ at the Every Nation building.

It was a time when we gathered and received His word afresh. Each testimony shared is a testament to the transforming power of God’s word—bringing about change that goes beyond the different spheres of influence in our nation.

God’s word is and must be the very ground from which our societal pillars rise. And most importantly, it is and must be the very ground of our families, and of our hearts.

It is the lamp to our feet and the light to our path (Psalm 119).

This one book, inspired by God—written by some forty authors from different backgrounds, nations, cultures, and periods over a thousand years, translated into thousands of languages, and yet, tells the same, greatest story of all time:

God’s redeeming love for His people.

And through Christ, you and I can be part of that story, too.

Let’s keep on interceding for our nation. Here are some prayer points:

  1. Pray that the word of God will pierce through our hearts and transform our minds daily. Let’s ask for an increased faith to meditate on it day and night.
  2. Pray for greater unity among the Body of Christ as we serve together in faithfully advancing the gospel of Christ, through our unique God-given calling.
  3. Declare a word of blessing for the Philippines. May every family be founded and rooted in God’s word.
From Our Hearts to the Cities: God’s Love Experienced in Pasig

From Our Hearts to the Cities: God’s Love Experienced in Pasig

God calls us to be His hands and feet here on earth, to love and serve His people, and to live out the gospel wherever we may be.

In December 2023, we were given the privilege to partner with the local government of Pasig to bless and minister to those in need at the Kanlungan sa Pasig facility. This place provides a space for healing and recovery for those in crisis—including children at risk, teens, victims of violence, and abandoned elderly.

A Christmas party was held where Noche Buena packages and hygiene kits were given to 180 families, as the children enjoyed a time of fun and games.

More than the tangible gifts, sharing the most beautiful gift of all—the gospel of Jesus Christ was the best thing that happened that day. It was such a joy to witness the children lift hands as they gave their lives to Jesus.

Just before we closed the year, a blood donation drive in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross called “Give Blood on Christmas Day” was also held in Victory Pasig. This allowed us to be an answered prayer for those in need of help; our act of faith and obedience surely made a huge difference in many lives.

We see more of His generosity overflow through us, wherever God sends us!

Thank you for praying and giving so others can experience the power of the gospel. Let us continue to believe in God for more open doors to serve our cities and allow Him to set us apart for His purpose this year.

Set Apart—Together

Set Apart—Together

For the past 5 days, we’ve come together for our annual Prayer, Fasting, and Consecration week.

As a church, we pondered upon the heart of God’s holiness, and this is the great news—we are already made righteous through Christ’s sacrifice.

On that cross, He cleansed us in His righteousness, washing away all our sins. This is the grace that made us from crimson red to as white as snow; the grace that makes us holy now and allows us to have full communion with our Abba Father.

As we carry this good news into each day of 2024, let the burden of striving for holiness fall away. But rather, may we always call to mind that being holy is being set apart for Christ and being clothed in Him “who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” (2 Corinthians 5:21)

May God’s call to holiness not become a daunting task but a warm invitation. He is calling us, His dear children, to walk this journey of holiness, together.

We are never alone in this walk, and we will never be. From every corner of the earth, our spiritual family surrounds us—and may this truth be like a warm embrace and spark of hope against and amidst the darkness.

Blessings be upon you and your loved ones as we walk through this year, hearts brimming with God’s holy presence. May we have a faith-filled, set-apart year ahead!

Have you experienced some breakthroughs lately? Share your testimony with us! We’d love to celebrate with you.

2023: A Year of Miracles

Let us recount the great things that the Lord has done in and through us as we welcome 2024.

6,105 people gave their life to Christ and were baptized

26 new churches were planted across the nation

975 campuses opened their doors for the gospel

Over 20 communities and 70 campuses in Metro Manila experienced God’s love as we partnered with school administrators and local government units

1,475 Real LIFE scholars faced the future with hope, and 164 graduated this year

196 missionaries were sent to preach the gospel to 35 nations, and 19 Ten Days teams were sent to 12 nations

109 ministers (pastors, cross cultural and campus missionaries) were commissioned to bring the gospel to the campuses, cities, and nations

95 pastors and leaders from 35 nations came together at the Every Nation building for the residential intensives of the Every Nation Seminary

But nothing is greater than the miracle of knowing Christ together.

Let us enter 2024 with the same hope–that we have a God who fulfills promises and sets us apart for His purposes.

A City Embraced: Bringing The Gospel To Taguig

A City Embraced: Bringing The Gospel To Taguig

Just like a father’s heart aches for his child in need, God’s love knows no bounds, especially for the lost, the least, and the last (Psalm 140:12).

Here in Taguig, a city of vibrant yet painful contrasts, we want to echo that very heart of Christ—not just within our church’s walls, but in the least, unseen communities.

Remember the joy of those Noche Buena gift packs we shared nearly two decades ago? That simple, compassionate act from our volunteers ignited a fire, a passion to be God’s hands and feet, to proclaim His love in a greater capacity—to even embed social responsibility in our vision as a church.

And that is where our Love the City initiative started—just from a desire to bless and embody the gospel within and beyond our city walls. By God’s grace, we strive to live out our faith not just in words, but also in acts of generosity and service. Taguig, amidst its divides, has brought us closer to those who need it most. We’ve joined hands with these organizations that are beacons of light and hope in our city:

  • Generations–Home: Their heart is to end the orphan crisis and give orphaned children a chance to be loved well by raising awareness about foster care and adoption. They do this by reaching out to families through forums, discussions, and more. Currently, twelve families from our church have already opened their hearts and homes—good news to celebrate as we start the year!
  • Zonta‘s Kababaihan Project: They advocate for women’s rights and support women in need; we serve alongside them by building bridges of mental health support and sharing Christ’s love with the moms and their children. Because of our volunteers’ efforts, at least three women are now on their discipleship journey with us!
  • Marillac is a government facility that houses sexually abused and neglected young people. As a church, we partner with them by offering platforms of God’s healing through art therapy sessions, group discussions, and fun activities to spend time getting to know and building friendships with them.
  • Wipe Every Tear: They rescue victims of human trafficking. We stand beside them by starting small group sessions with the women and children—talking and being with them, helping them process their thoughts and emotions, and just simply, hearing their stories.

We believe in starting small, in the ripple effect of a single act of love. Every shared meal, every listening ear, every word of blessing, and every prayer of hope matters.

To all our Victory BGC and Taguig volunteers, may the Lord bless you a hundredfold for all the time and effort you’ve given to minister to our communities.

Thank you for serving with us and loving on people just as Christ loves, wherever you are!

Pray for Christ’s Hope to Anchor Us this 2024

Pray for Christ’s Hope to Anchor Us this 2024

A recently concluded survey report by Pulse Asia says that 92% of Filipino adults are hopeful for the coming year.

“Amidst the various challenges Filipinos face on a daily basis, most of them continue to remain optimistic, with 92% saying they will face the new year with hope. This is the prevailing sentiment in every geographic area and socio-economic grouping,” Pulse Asia said in its report.

This year, we have experienced several natural calamities, economic hurdles, policy concerns, and administrative challenges, among others. Yet, these things did not hinder us from hoping once again.

As we look back and remember the year that was, we are also reminded of the steadfast love of the Lord that never ceases, whose mercies never come to an end, but are new every morning. (Lamentations 3:21-22).

Our hope is in Christ, not in our government, nor our economy. Therefore, we will continue to bring the message of hope this 2024, as we honor God and make disciples.

It says in 1 Peter 1:13, Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

May our prayer for miracles continue to translate into an unwavering time of intercession for our nation, as we anchor our hearts to our living hope. May we unceasingly witness miracles happening in our nation every day.

Prayer Points:

  1. Pray for a spirit of hope and anticipation for 2024. Let us believe that God will fill our hearts with expectations that this coming year will be better for us Filipinos.
  1. Let us ask God to anchor our hopes fully on the grace brought to us by the revelation of Jesus Christ, not on government leaders, economic prosperity, or positive thinking.
  2. Let us pray that the church will continue to spread the message of hope throughout every city and municipality, just as we have experienced this hope firsthand. May 2024 be a year of even greater intentional evangelism and relational discipleship.

Something beautiful happens when we seek God together with others. We find our faith strengthened and our hearts encouraged – knowing that we are never alone in this life.

Wherever you are, may you find a church community who will help you grow.

We hope there’s a Victory location near your campus, city or in any of these new locations:

We look forward to seeing you!

The Joy of Serving

The Joy of Serving

Every year, we take time to recount the stories of changed lives, communities served, campuses reached, and the miracles we experienced as a church.

As we do this, we also take time to honor and celebrate our small group leaders and ministry volunteers across our local centers in the Philippines.

We had a time of fun and fellowship where we thanked each church member who contributed to running our worship services and helped us build our local churches.

If you are a leader, a volunteer, or anyone who has helped our church grow this year in whatever way, we sincerely thank you for your service.

The details of your work may not be fully seen by the eyes of men, but we want to assure you that the God we serve is a Rewarder, and your reward in heaven is full.

Thank you for keeping your most important and esteemed audience, your audience of One—Jesus, our Greatest Reward.

May you be blessed abundantly, and may a thousandfold of what you give be returned to you by His grace. Your gifts are a blessing to many and have helped people come to know Christ more!

“God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.” — Hebrews 6:10

Shoutout to all our small group leaders and volunteers! Great job to you!

God’s Heart For Our Cities

God’s Heart For Our Cities

God’s Kingdom is likened to a mustard seed that grows, sown, and nurtured—just as God honors His people’s steps of faith, even the seemingly smallest ones.

We all take part in the Great Commission by making disciples. At the same time, we also serve hand in hand with the Body of Christ extending Christ’s love to permeate our nation.

How do we do this?

Our church serves and collaborates with national Christian ministries like the Philippine Council of Evangelical Churches (PCEC), Global Filipino Movement, and NGO Pamilya Muna Pilipinas to support nation-building initiatives that promote Christian values and uphold God’s word in our society.

We also recently partnered with TransformNation for a Breakfast Forum where we gathered Christian leaders and marketplace professionals to pray, worship, and encourage each other to fulfill God’s purposes in our nation as we share the gospel with every sector of our society.

The annual celebration of the National Bible Day is also important to us as we strongly believe in the transformative power of God’s Word to shape our moral character. This enables us to effectively demonstrate and proclaim the gospel in our nation.

Apart from these, we also conduct various initiatives in the local church closest to you!

This gives us the picture of the biblical metaphor of the net–where each thread symbolizes each church member in Christ. Our nets, however strong, benefit from being part of a larger, more powerful whole. This is why fostering a greater relational connection with the whole body of Christ is important.

We face challenges, and each local church is a work in progress. The church is even made up of people who are navigating insecurities, past hurts, theological differences, spiritual opposition, and more—but, at the end of the day, let us be reminded that the devil only seeks to delay God’s work and that he can only hinder, not stop, the inevitable triumph of the gospel.

The Bible offers us a powerful image: from a garden in Genesis to a flourishing city in Revelation. It’s a story of reaching outwards, of transforming cities.

This is our call, and the role of the church: to honor God and make His name known to nations. We do this by reaching out to the students, equipping marketplace leaders, discipling families, and reminding every child of God that their calling, no matter how seemingly ordinary, holds immense value in God’s eyes.

May God give us the strength to pursue His mission alongside His body of believers.

Call to Prayer:

  1. Pray for the church’s unity in mission and purpose.
  2. Pray for the church to live out its calling and be the godly influence to the different sectors of society.
  3. Pray for the next generation of leaders to rise and take the lead–and that they may have strong biblical foundations as early as now as we disciple them in campus ministry.
Pray for our Overseas Filipino Workers

Pray for our Overseas Filipino Workers

Even during these difficult times, we see how committed the OFWs (Overseas Filipino Workers) are to serving within their capacity amidst the challenges they face.

These challenges are not unknown to us anymore—from being separated long from their loved ones to adapting to cultural barriers, dealing with labor and employment issues, and worse, even wars.

And while all these are happening, our OFWs are not only being a blessing to their families and our nation, but they can even take part in God’s great work in the nations.

As a church, let us continue to hold the ropes for our OFWs as they live in foreign lands and be in faith that every prayer we are going to utter can comfort and strengthen them and their families here in the Philippines.

Prayer Points:

1. Pray for God’s protection over the OFWs around the world, especially those in dangerous and potentially risky environments. May God be their rock, fortress, deliverer, refuge, shield, and stronghold (Psalm 18:2).

2. Pray for spiritual, emotional, and mental strength to cope with the challenges of being away from family, home, and comfort. Let us also pray they find a church community and spiritual family in any of our Every Nation member churches who will stand with them in life and discipleship.

3. Pray that the OFWs will contribute not only to the Philippine economy but also to the Great Commission. May God use them as His missionaries to the nations they are in right now.

Pray for God’s True and Lasting Peace over Israel and Palestine

Pray for God’s True and Lasting Peace over Israel and Palestine

“He shall judge between the nations,
    and shall decide disputes for many peoples;
and they shall beat their swords into plowshares,
    and their spears into pruning hooks;
nation shall not lift up sword against nation,
neither shall they learn war anymore.”

(Isaiah 2:4)

As we enter the Christmas season which commemorates the birth of Christ, one of the central Messianic hopes was that Christ would bring about peace between peoples and nations.

At the time this article was being written, the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas has just been extended another two days. Too short a respite from the horrors of war, but a much-needed truce nevertheless.

The roots of this conflict stretch back to over 3,000 years ago, when Israel settled in Canaan. After Rome expelled the Jews from the region in the 2nd century, nomadic Arabs began to populate the area beginning in the 7th century. In 1917, the British colonizers issued the Balfour Declaration, establishing the land as the national home of the Jewish peoples scattered around the globe. This was made without consultation with either the Jews or the Palestinians. This culminated in the 1947 United Nations resolution establishing the nation of Israel.

At its core, this conflict is about 2 peoples, with contrasting religions, cultures, histories, and worldviews, but with the same real estate rights, calling the same piece of land “home.” The political goal of Israel is to displace all Arabs from the land, while Hamas has as its military objective to “push Israel into the sea.”

When Hamas launched its deadly surprise attack on Israel under the cover of darkness on October 7, it was simply the latest in decades of conflict between the two peoples. Both sides have been guilty of atrocities and inhumane discrimination against one another throughout time.

Most of the nations involved have exhausted every possible political and diplomatic solution over the last 75 years, to no avail. Decades later, both nations are still at war. The answer is simple but never easy – for two peoples with diverse backgrounds to learn to co-exist and live with one another in peace and harmony. That cannot be achieved through the barrel of a gun. Politicians have tried and failed. Diplomats have negotiated in futility.

There is only one true answer – for both peoples to submit to the lordship of the only One who can bring true and lasting peace. This way, they can trade their weapons for tools so that together, they can work, till the land, reap the harvest, and live in harmony in the same land.

Prayer Points:

1. Pray for the released prisoners and displaced families as they return home to the war-torn Gaza strip. Ask God for the courage and perseverance to rebuild their lives and the humility and grace to be free from the spirit of vengeance.

2. Intercede for Prime Minister Netanyahu and Hamas leader Haniyeh. May an overwhelming love and burden for the lives of their people guide them as they make decisions regarding the extension or cancellation of the ceasefire. Pray for a divine solution for both sides to agree to the cessation of war.

3. Lift up AMEN (Arab Ministries of Every Nation) as its leaders distribute relief goods and medicine on the ground to affected Palestinians. Pray also for our Every Nation members in Israel serving as medical missionaries. Intercede for the gospel to penetrate the hearts and minds of both Israelis and Palestinians as our Every Nation leaders share the good news with them.

Every Nation is a global family of churches and campus ministries, of which Victory is a founding member.

We are called to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19). This is the reason we value world missions as a church and persistently pray for the nations.
